Energy conservation and emission reduction: Updating equipment in the dyeing and finishing industry

The dyeing and printing industry is a key industry, but it is also an energy-consuming and polluting industry. In the face of a severe energy conservation and emission reduction situation, dyeing and printing enterprises are under unprecedented pressure. However, some companies have not remained stagnant in the face of pressure, but have instead risen to the challenge. Recently, reporters learned from relevant sources that many dyeing and printing enterprises have invested heavily in technological transformations of their equipment to reduce energy consumption and pollution while maintaining a certain production capacity. Airflow cylinders are popular in the dyeing and printing industry. A few years ago, energy conservation and emission reduction were regarded as an important task. The dyeing and printing industry was the first to face this challenge, having repeatedly raised wastewater discharge standards and wastewater treatment fees. To reduce production costs and expand capacity, some dyeing and printing enterprises have focused on energy conservation and emission reduction from equipment, production processes, and wastewater post-treatment processes. As a result, advanced foreign airflow cylinders were first included in the procurement list of dyeing and printing enterprises. It is understood that compared with traditional J-type cylinders, airflow cylinders have characteristics such as smaller bath ratio, lower energy consumption, and less waste discharge, and are hailed as environmentally friendly green equipment of the 21st century. In 2007, a buying frenzy for airflow cylinders swept through the dyeing and printing industry. That year, 54 airflow cylinders were installed and used in the county, with 10 of them being put into operation after installation and debugging by the end of the year. To this day, the enthusiasm of dyeing and printing enterprises for purchasing airflow cylinders remains unabated. According to relevant regulations, by the end of September this year, Zhejiang Yichuang Dyeing and Printing Co., Ltd. will shut down 23 J-type cylinders, significantly reducing the constraints on the production capacity of the enterprise. In the first half of this year, "Yichuang Dyeing and Printing" spent a huge amount of money to introduce 11 airflow cylinders from Germany, eliminating some backward production capacity, and currently, production orders are coming in endlessly. Digital printing has been successively put into use. Digital printing machines are another key production equipment that is being procured in the dyeing and printing industry. This type of equipment applies production processes similar to inkjet printers to the field of fabric dyeing and printing, achieving nearly zero pollution and zero emissions, which is favored by some dyeing and printing enterprises. The introduction of new equipment by enterprises has brought significant benefits. The introduction of new equipment by various enterprises has not only reduced energy consumption but has also brought many visible benefits to the enterprises.

Promote the digital and intelligent transformation of the textile and apparel industry

With the rapid development of a new generation of information technology, digitization, networking, and intelligence have gradually penetrated most traditional industries, including manufacturing, energy, and transportation, forming their own development trends in each industry. New models and new formats such as intelligent manufacturing and smart energy are becoming the new development themes across various sectors. Clothing, food, housing, and transportation are essential daily necessities for the public, and the textile and clothing industry related to "clothing" is closely linked to everyone's life. As a traditional manufacturing industry, promoting the digital and intelligent transformation of the textile and clothing sector is the common direction of effort for the industry at present. Multiple policies also indicate that our country is placing great importance on the digital transformation of the textile industry, making it even more urgent. In 2021, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the second batch of typical application scenarios for "5G + Industrial Internet" and key industry practices, among which the textile industry is included as one of the five key industry practices. Relevant policies also point out the need to gradually achieve the digital transformation of the textile industry. In June 2021, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's "14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of the Textile Industry" proposed to continuously deepen industrial structure adjustment and transformation and upgrading, increase efforts in technological innovation and talent cultivation, and establish several advanced textile industry clusters. The "Action Plan for the Development of the Industrial Internet in the Textile Industry (2018-2020)" proposed to vigorously develop the industrial internet in the textile industry, promote the deep integration of the internet and the textile industry, facilitate the transformation and upgrading of the textile industry, and achieve high-quality development, building a strong textile nation.
